Which is a better option for family planning and avoiding pregnancy? tubectomy or vasectomy by my spouse?

I want to know the side effects ,advantages and disadvantages of both of these methods.

Well, obviously both are permanent and should you change your mind about pregnancy, very hard, sometimes impossible to reverse.

Advantages for vasectomy is it has a quick recovery time and is a quite un-invasive surgery. The man can be in and out with in one day.
Dis advantages: If you for some reason get another partner in the future, you then have to think about contraception again.

Advantages for tubectomy (I think this is the same as a hysterectomy)
You don’t have to worry if you change partners (except for STD’s obviously) as you know that you are sterile. You don’t get periods anymore!
Disadvantages: It’s major surgery and quite invasive. Some women can feel ‘less womanly’ after they have it.

My partner and I have talked about it, and have decided that once we have our second bubs that he will get the snip. We firgured that I had to go through the labour of child birth so he can go through this little operation.
